Chinese braised tofu is a really easy dish using common Chinese pantry ingredients, yet packed with big flavors. This simple braised tofu is one of my trusted recipes that I make again and again.

Ingredients of Braised Tofu

  1. It's 1 packet of extra firm tofu.
  2. It's 1 of large carrot.
  3. Prepare 1/2 of white onion.

  6. You need of Sesame oil.
  7. It's 1 tbsp of maple syrup.
  8. Prepare 1/3 tbsp of cayenne.

  10. You need 5 cloves of garlic.
  11. It's of Salt.
  12. Prepare of Pepper.
  13. It's 1 cup of water.
  14. It's 2 of scallion greens.
  15. Prepare of Sesame seeds.

Today's recipe is dubu-jorim (spicy braised tofu). It's fresh tofu braised in a savory-spicy sauce and pan fried with caramelized onion, garlic. Dubu jorim is a tofu dish that's braised in a simple sauce. With this recipe, you can easily turn your tofu into Dubu jorim (두부조림) is a simple braised tofu dish.

Braised Tofu step by step

  1. Cut tofu into thin slices and fry in sesame oil.
  2. In a small bowl add mix soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, cayenne, maple syrup.
