I especially loved the asian glaze on this because it gave it such a great flavor. It had all of my favorite things in the glaze and I am a lover of Asian inspired dishes. Place the salmon fillets, skin side down, on a broiler pan or a wire cooling rack (on top of a baking sheet), coated with cooking spray. Brush a bit more glaze on each salmon fillet and sprinkle with sesame seeds (optional).
A simple soy sauce and brown sugar marinade, with hints of lemon and garlic, are the perfect salty-sweet complement to rich salmon fillets. Season salmon with salt and pepper. Heat grill and place salmon on grill flesh side down. Place the sugar, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, a dash of red pepper flakes, garlic and lime juice in a nonreactive saucepan. Using a heavy-duty spatula, carefully flip salmon and brush with barbecue sauce.
